Hauthane HD-6000 DMM

An NMP-free, APEO-free, polyester-based, hydroxyl-functional, aliphatic, water-borne polyurethane dispersion.

Suggested Uses: HD-6000 DMM was developed for use with water-dispersible, isocyanate crosslinkers such as Covestro’s Bayhydur 302 or Vencorex’s Easaqua X D 401. The product, when crosslinked provides tough, chemical-resistant, semi-gloss coatings which may be applied to a variety of substrates including concrete, metals, plastics and wood materials.

Characteristics:

  • Superior chemical resistance
  • Excellent exterior weathering durability
  • Excellent humidity resistance
  • Contains dipropylene glycol dimethylether co-solvent

Application

HD-6000 DMM crosslinked with water-dispersible isocyanates may be spray applied using single-component equipment. The workable potlife is approximately 3 hours at the suggested crosslinker ratio of 2.0 to 1.0 NCO / OH.

Curing

HD-6000 DMM, crosslinked with a water dispersible isocyanate, will dry to a hard film in 30 minutes at ambient room temperature (65 – 70°F) and humidity (RH 50%). Ultimate cured properties will take 3 -5 days to develop. If heat is available, the ultimate properties can be attained in shorter time. Typical oven drying temperatures and dwell times for aqueous coatings are sufficient to produce optimal film properties
