Hauthane L-2245
An anionic, aliphatic, aqueous polyurethane dispersion with a low activation temperature.
Suggested Uses: L-2245 is an adhesive grade polyurethane suggested for industrial laminating applications where a pre-lamination coating is applied to a substrate and then dried. Ideal for bonding plasticized vinyl sheet to itself and to other substrates such as rubber, wood, cardboard and textiles.
Characteristics:
- May be crosslinked for improved adhesion and heat-resistance.
- Non-crystalline nature
- Low level of n-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) co-solvent (~2 %)

Application
L-2245 can be used as supplied or blended with vinyl acetate/ethylene, styrene butadiene and acrylic emulsions. The rheology of L-2245 may be modified with associative or acrylic thickeners for knife-over-roll or similar methods.
Curing
L-2245 will dry to a tack-free film in 10 minutes at 200 ºF. Heat activation will occur between 215 – 225 ºF. L-2245 may be crosslinked with polyaziridines, water dispersible polyisocyanates, epoxy silanes or low temperature melamines to increase bond strength and heat resistance.
